Reports Locate Travelers

A behind-the-scenes benefit that generated many comments were the reports generated for NTM corporate clients listing every traveler itinerary for those who were in transit on September 11. These name lists facilitated the search for travelers, contributing to peace of mind for coworkers and family members. Lists were run and distributed within hours of the first attack. An example from ADC Telecommunications:

Kudos! I want to extend my appreciation to the NTM team.. . they were very effective in keeping us up-do-date on the status on things during the day on Tuesday and that was of great value to us. Their resourcefulness in getting a good traveler listing was very important to calming concerns about our employees. Thanks.

Another customer, accompanied by her diabetic father, was on her way home from Milan September 11. The flight was turned back, and the passengers were taken to a remote location 90 minutes from Milan. When it became apparent that their return flight home would not be in hours, but days, the issue of obtaining an insulin prescription while in a foreign country quickly became a matter of life and death. NTM agents got an Italian prescription faxed to the nearest pharmacy.

The client who, as an employee of the Red Cross, knows something about crisis management said that

"… calling Northwestern Travel Management was the best thing I could have done. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful you were."

And again, NTM agents reported mutual respect, courtesy and patience from the distraught customer, who was caught 5000 miles from home in another country without the proper medication for her father.
