Delta’s New International Check-in Times

Effective July 1, 2003 Delta passengers traveling on international flights will be required to check in at least 60 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure. In addition, passengers must be at the boarding gate and available for boarding no later than 45 minutes prior to the international flight departure.

Note: This was previously the requirement only on trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific flights, while the requirement for other international flights was to be "checked in and at the gate" by 45 minutes to flight departure, although this often varied by station.

Flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, are not subject to this change. Flights from San Juan and St. Thomas are be subject to the international rule.
