Meetings in Detroit

There are many exciting changes happening throughout metro Detroit – things travelers should remember as you select destinations for your upcoming meetings and conventions.

Detroit's Cobo Center, one of the largest convention centers in the nation, recently announced major work rule changes. First - exhibitors are now only required to hire a minimum of two union members to move freight - not three. Also - exhibitors may now set up their own booth (sizes 300 square feet or less) if the work can be completed within two hours without power tools (a power screwdriver is allowed). Click here for more details about Cobo Center.

Over $20 billion in new development is transforming Detroit into a must see destination. Click here to see what’s new in Detroit including new developments happening in the region.

Radisson Gives 15 Percent Meetings Discount

Radisson Hotels & Resorts announced a 'More Meetings Offer' to attract additional group business and room nights to its hotels this summer. From May 29 through Sept. 1 at participating Radisson hotels and resorts in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, the chain is giving planners the opportunity to earn a 15 percent discount off the total meeting cost (at the presentation of the bill). Attendees will also be able to arrive at the meeting destination early or stay longer at the hotel at the group's special negotiated group rate, per availability.

To qualify for the discount the value of the meeting or event must be at least $3,000, including tax and gratuities, on a combination of sleeping rooms, meeting rooms and food and beverage at the participating property. The offer is not valid for previously booked or completed meetings and is based on hotel space availability.
