Delta Restores Flight Service
Delta is anticipating an increase in demand for some of the domestic and international routes where service was suspended or reduced because of the war in Iraq. Delta will begin restoring service in June, including the reinstatement of Atlanta-Madrid service. Delta isn’t, however, bringing back all of the capacity because future bookings have
not returned to pre-war levels. June capacity will still be 7% lower than originally planned, compared with a 12% reduction in May.

Northwest New Flight Service
On April 6, Northwest will begin new service between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Harrisburg, PA.

Northwest Airlines is proud to announce new service between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Portland, Maine. This new service will begin June 21, 2003 and operate through September 1, 2003.

Northwest Airlines has discontinued its seasonal service to Ely on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Song’s New Flight Service
Song, Delta's new low-fare carrier, will launch Orlando-San Juan and Orlando-Las Vegas service in July at introductory one-way fares ranging from $119 to $299. Song plans to offer 144 daily flights by this fall, with service that includes Atlanta; Boston; Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and Tampa, FL; Hartford, CT; Newark; New York (LaGuardia); and Washington.

United Resumes Paris Flights
United Airlines plans to resume daily flights between San Francisco and Paris on May 5. United had previously suspended daily, nonstop service in March, as the war in Iraq discouraged travelers. United will revive the route with a Boeing 777 airliner, which seats about 350 passengers.

US Airways Flight Service
US Airways will suspend service from Pittsburgh to both London (Gatwick) and Frankfurt for May, temporarily leaving it with no transatlantic service from the hub. The airline said the May suspensions are due to the airline's commitment to provide aircraft to the Civil Reserve Air Fleet for the movement of troops to and from the Middle East. That commitment includes two widebody aircraft. Service on both routes is scheduled to resume June 1, or "as soon as the economic conditions and CRAF commitments allow," US Airways said.
