Airtran Installs Self-Service Check-in Kiosks

AirTran Airways has installed new ByePassSM kiosks, self-service check-in units that will expedite the check-in process at its hub in Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. By using the kiosks, customers in Atlanta can check-in for their flights, select seat assignments, receive A-Plus frequent flier credits, and obtain boarding passes, all in an average time of less than two minutes.

Through a partnership with Kinetics, Inc., the premiere provider of enterprise and self-service technology to the U.S. airline industry, AirTran Airways now offers twelve ByePass kiosks near ticket counters in Atlanta. ByePass, which utilizes Kinetics TouchPort technology, allows passengers to bypass ticket counter lines by electronic check-in through a touch-sensitive screen. By the end of June, the airline will have more than 200 ByePass kiosks installed throughout its network.

Additionally, Airtran now offers Internet check-in abilities. To access all carrier’s online check-in links, visit the NTM Client Gateway and click on “Online Airline Check-in,” which is listed under the Technology category.
