MSP to Replace Express Shuttle with Super Shuttle

Super Shuttle may replace Airport Express at Minneapolis St. Paul Airport

Express Shuttle, the Twin Cities' largest airport shuttle service shut down on May 1, 2002, partially because of a downturn in business since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Express, which ran 19 vans from the airport to hotels and other downtown locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul, has operated in the metro area for 10 years.

SuperShuttle, which operates shuttles from hotels and residences to airports in 23 cities, "is very interested in the Twin Cities market," a spokesman said. He estimated that the company, which pioneered the concept of shared rides to the airport, would plan on averaging 200 airport trips per day in a market of this size.
