New Codeshare Agreements

United & US Airways
United and US Airways launched their code-share program on January 8, 2003. This offers United customers additional flights to 14 cities in the East and Southeast. For US Airways customers, more flights will be available to 10 cities in the West, including five cities -- Oakland, Sacramento and San Jose, CA; Portland, OR; and Salt Lake City -- that previously were not served by US Airways. More code-share flights will be introduced soon.

American & Cathay Pacific
American is making its first entry into the Hong Kong market, as it begins its long-sought code share with Cathay Pacific on January 29. American customers will be able to travel under the AA code to Hong Kong via Cathay Pacific's U.S. gateways of Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, as well as American's gateway at Tokyo. Customers also will be able to travel beyond Hong Kong to other cities in Asia. Cathay will place its code on American's flights to 20 U.S. cities from its three U.S. gateways.
