In today's environment of continually changing discounted
fares on the Internet, an agency’s ability to instantly
search the Internet for fares which are lower than those in
the airline reservation system is a tremendous advantage to

Northwestern Travel Management has selected the Travel ConsoleTM
Web fare search program powered by AgentWare, a leader in
Internet based travel technologies. The NTM STAR Center will
use AgentWare to search and book Web fares for NTM customers.

Using the tool is simple. The corporation simply defines
the search criteria, specifically, at which point a lower
fare should be researched and what the minimum fare savings
amount can be (e.g. check all fares over $400.00 and offer
all alternate itineraries saving at least $100.00). The agent
communicates with the STAR Center to process the search request
on a per-trip basis. AgentWare will search for lower fare
options from ten different airline and agency web sites simultaneously.
The system has the ability to search over forty web sites,
however NTM has opted to limit the search to ten of the major
carrier web sites, plus the leading public online booking
tools such as Orbitz, Expedia and Travelocity. Should a lower
fare be found, our consultants will discuss the options with
the traveler, who must then weigh the pros and cons and ultimately
decide whether to accept the web fare.
